The brief was to create an unboxing moment for the nowadays high demanding consumer that want the extra wow feeling when opening a packaging.
We wanted to create a champagne package that would stand out in the store shelves, a packaging that wasn’t like the usual square or cylinder shaped packaging that is usually common to see nowadays in the champagne selection. We also wanted the package to be carried easily without having to buy a plastic bag.
The packaging has a sleeve on the top, that makes the whole construction of the packaging stay together. This is what makes it possible to carry the packaging in it's own handles.
Our package has it's natural brown color on the outside and a printed color on the inside, this is to minimize the use of color in production. We wanted to make the package feel as natural as possible when seeing it in the store shelf. When choosing the material we knew it had to be strong enough to carry the weight of the bottle, and It had to last all the way from the store shelf to the home of the consumer without breaking on the way home. We found that the carton board material Carry 370 from BillerudKorsnäs was able to do that all of that even with all the cutaways in the design.
