Muji Pen Hanger
Makerbot selected myself and 14 other designers to compete in their competition for 2018's NYCxDesign. We were given a Replicator+ and asked to design an object to improve daily life. This was a weighty prompt given the month we had to design our objects. I decided that instead of going out into the world to find problems, that I would hyper personalize my project, which would hopefully resonate outside of my apartment. It was also an opportunity to expand on my personal design philosophy, which currently holds that in our obsession with simplicity, we often disregard solutions which would add delight to our product experiences. It all started when I was organizing my filing cabinet and came across an abundance of Allen Wrenches and Muji Pens. How could I use one to organize the other? The Muji Pen Hanger was awarded 'Best Design for 3D Printing'.
*The Muji Pen Hanger is somewhat of a conceptual project for Muji and was not sponsored by the company.
