Chador series
Since my childhood, I had a special relationship with Chador: We used to hide under it or to spread it on us. We would clean vegetables on it or would keep it under trees to collect berries.
We used to spread bread on it to cool off. I'd make houses with it Or would design clothes with it. Sometimes I used to wear it to dance, other times I'd wear it to pray; I used to think that it was an essential part of prayers. Till I grew up and found other toys.
In the recent years I took a trip to Afghanistan, and I was fascinated by their blue colored Chador.
It was extremely professional in terms of color, design, and make. There was a pink Chador too which was used by brides. However I liked the blue one better as it matched my skin tone better too.
It started with Afghan Chador... Inspired by ladies' clothing from Ghajar era, Iranian elements and feminine objects, Iranian architecture, and automobile design, while trying to maintain a little religious influence unlike my other collection, I created these figures.
People's main concern is to embody an ideal physique in the future. I too have tested myself in this respect, numerous times... no matter female or male... my focus has been to find out which one is more Soroush? As if I saw myself a material from which I was to form a figure... Along those years of wondering, trials and errors, I came across sculpting: an art form which wasn't as confined as my own body, and I could experiment with myself in a whole different realm... At the same time I studied my own physique under various conditions. As if Soroush and the sculpting are complementary to each other and are supposed to take a journey together to display the unknown sides of me. Around the same time, I've came across a man who strangely seems to have been the inspiriting model for my sculptures all along, who has an astonishing harmony with my Venus collection, whose body has the color of bronze... This is a path which goes on, maybe a time comes when Soroush reincarnates in fabric, or cardboard, or even a plant which will demonstrate my other states.... I need to wait, and I need to sculpt again.

VENUS series
At the beginning of my work with wood, I saw the form of female body in wood logs. Inspired by Willendorf’s Venus, I started to create wooden sculptures from these forms. These sculptures were made to follow the concept of the first Venus.
Feminine aspect was of a significant importance in these sculptures, as can be perceived in all pf them. The measurements of these wooden sculptures are almost similar to those of human anatomy, with heights between 70Cm and 160Cm.
Later on, physical and spiritual evolution, illness, social circumstances, and environmental inspirations led to creation of new brass sculptures, smaller in size and with more details.
These sculptures were created in male & female couples, sized 45Cm-65Cm with more differentiated femininity and masculinity.
Of course personal interest and being in sport centers could be considered as an influence.
Physical activities, study in physical science and human anatomy, as well as animals’ and insects’ anatomy have played a notable role in formation and growth of ideas behind this collection.
Luxury has been aimed to be a noteworthy aspect of this collection.
