Tin Hau Festival is one of the tradition festival in Hong Kong with a long history including: Early Hong Kong fishing industry. Traditional customs was reflect national customs, more valuable, and worthy of reservation, rapid pace of social change is amazing. It is too hasty, experiences and causal relationship of many things, Lack of people to support and the Hong Kong government has not carried out too many promotional, most of citizen has been forgotten.
The "Guardian" is a plan of cooperation between Hong Kong Tourism Development Council and M+. Called the "Guardian", it means that everyone will take part in the motivatiin experience of Tin Hau and lead the students into the story of the legendary sea goddess. The "Guardian" focuses on “interaction” learning. Students learn history together in image and fun of visual culture to promote interaction and conversation. There are 4 exhibition area in the exhibition hall. You can use the "Guardian" app to scan the QR code on the wall to get the data.

App
App in the design reference to last semester of the study, taking into using a interesting visual for person to understand the story of Tin Hau workship and history. It should be using the app in the expo and have a game to play with temple.
In Expo
When visitors come to the space, they will see the graphic in the wall, And each wall have a QR code. Total in 4 Types.
In Game
Using in each tin hau temple, I selected 20-30 temples for the game and found their characteristics. Each temple of characteristic will change for graphics. Every temples have 5-6 graphic, but one is fact. When visitors use the app and play the game, they should put the camera to catch temples and find the special. If find it, then take the photo and done one of point and get the puzzle of tin hau. When you finished 15 temples, the puzzle would be done yet.
Motion graphic
Visitors should use this app to scan it and get the information. After scan it, the phone will show the motion graphic of 4 stories on screen.
Story description
Story One Who is Tin Hau?
A baby was born on March 23rd of 960th Lunar Calendar. She is not crying when she was born, but she was laughing. Therefore, her parents named her as "Mo" and "Mother" as her name because she had a quiet meaning. When she was eight, she went to private school and couldn't forget it. When she was teens, she liked to burn incense and worship Buddha and read the scriptures. At the age of thirteen, Mo was willing to give alms, and she was taught by master to teach "Mysterious Secret Method." At the age of fifteen, she can treat ordinary people and often cross the sea to Pazhou to rescue ships in dinger. At the age of 28, during the rescue of a ship in distress at sea, Mo was unfortunately hit by a mast and fell into the water. Since then, Mazu has often shown her spirit and the villagers often see her to help people at sea or sit in a cloud. She become the people coast of China and Taiwan, the people generally believe in God, but also become the patron saint of the seafarers.
She spent her life in the sea to help the people who is in danger. After her died and go to heaven, she still saving the merchant boat and controlling the goddess of water. She aspires not to marry. She is dedicated to doing good for the world. Her compassionate heart has enabled her to be worshipped and loved by the people. When a ship meets the dangers of the sea, if she calls out to the holy name of Mazu she will immediately come to the rescue. She is "The Virgin of Heaven."
Story 2 Tin Hau Temples
Tin Hau Temple, one of the many types of temples in Hong Kong, ranks among the highest in the world in terms of quantity. There are temples, inscriptions, plaques, murals, woodcuts, and Shiwan pottery sculptures that are stored in every corner of the temple. In addition, the clairvoyance and wind-in-the-ear molder in front of the Tianhou Seaport are first-class, very delicate and highly ornamental. With the frequent trade on the sea and people who make a living overseas, the belief in Heaven and Mothers is spreading to different parts of the world. Hong Kong's Tin Hau Temple has the highest number of temples, totaling more than 300. At present, Tin Hau Temple in Hong Kong is spread over Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and outlying islands. Most of them were built after the reunification of the Qing Dynasty. Tin Hau Temple in Hong Kong is small in scale. Some of them even incorporate modern architectural methods and patterns in traditional temples and religious buildings. There is no affiliation between temples and temples. Among them, Dai Mia and the Tin Hau Temple in Yuen Long are the largest events of the year. Many are managed by the Chinese Temples Committee. There are many Tin Hau Temples in inland locations in Hong Kong because of reclamation projects over the years.
Story 3 Tin hou birthday
Tinhoubaosheng, also known as Tinhou birthday, it is a traditional cultural festival to celebrate the birth of Tianhou in the East Asian. In the third lunar month of the Lunar New Year, the villagers will hold a grand celebration, they will build a large scaffolding, there have flowers on the scaffolding. In the birthday celebration, scaffold are the most special. To determine the winner of each scaffold by drawing, you can take it with good luck. Most people want to get the "third shot," a symbol of "brought not only prosperity but also babies to families" which can be used to bring good luck to the whole village. Ordinary scaffold are 9 meters high, divided into 3 to 5 layers, made of bamboo or iron wire and paper. The different logo means different meanings. For example: Ganjiang represents one hundred thousand grandchildren, and sailing represents smooth sailing.
Story 4 Popular Belief Activities
The Sparkler Club is a civil organized to celebrate God's birthday. Many of the sparkler will be set up by fishermen and other people who rely on the ocean for living. They will organise divine performances, a lion dances, and dragon dances to celebrate. They are preparing sacrificial offering, the suckling pig.
