This pen sketch has been the source of the inspiration for 'Orb' and 'Meander' and one which is a work in progress.

My newly established habit is to select a compositional study from the archives and look for motifs to use in my digital works.  I used to copy my design sketches but found  this would tend to inhibit  creativity.   

Working tonally in grey-scale rather than in colour is enabling me to establish a  narrative   for the compositions  and  the colour choice is then guided by the final story or theme.

In the final work 'Brocade'  I lost my way a little -  perhaps  overambitious in my colour studying.   Rules deserted me leaving only instinct to lead the way  -   I hope viewers will enjoy it just the same.
