Artist Statement:

These three spot illustrations were created for an editorial piece on alternative beauty practices such as body modification. Each illustration was made to evoke a shocking, yet intriguing tone by showcasing various ways the human body can be altered to fit a person’s desired aesthetic.

Process:

In keeping with the tone of the editorial piece, I wanted to use bold, black outlines with wild, acidic color to capture the energy of this beauty trend. My aesthetic for this piece was to use a traditional tattoo style; along with similar color choices, to create a cohesive set of spot illustrations.
