Logo and Poster Design
for little star
Little Star is a playback theatre group founded by an actor, a teacher and a former consultant/ current HR. Performances are carried out by audience tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted by a team of actors, conduct and musician on the spot. I was approached to design a logo for the group. Unlike traditional theatre art form, playback theatre is fairly new in China. Yet its welcoming culture, spontaneous art form is made to a broad audience. In illustrator, I decided to wrap the logo with a circle and highlight the energy collision with joyful and vivid colors.
Little Star's first performance was about graduation. I drew a few colorful chairs under starry night to deliver playback theatre's welcoming story sharing concept, and highlighted the geographic transformation of graduation through the city skyline. *In Beijing, college and educational organizations are located in the west side, while modern office buildings are located mostly in the east side.
On their first performance night, I designed and made 30 nostalgic tickets to each participants as souvenirs. The concept is to re-create traditional theatre atmosphere and hopefully to bring the audience back to the time when their graduation stories took place.
Thank you for watching.
