Started in 2001 by Professional Skateboarder Torey Pudwill, Grizzly Griptape has grown to be one of the most recognized brands in the skateboarding industry. Torey was around 12 when his father made the design of the signature Grizzly Griptape bear logo. For the next few years, Torey would personally hammer out each sheet of grip in his garage, package and sell it to the local skate shops. To bring Grizzly Griptape products to the world market,Torey teamed up with Nick Tershay of Diamond Supply.
In January 2015 Grizzly Griptape became a standalone brand run by and for skateboarders. On February 21st the Grizzly Griptape Flagship retail store officially opened for business.
