I began this project last summer and I decided to base my theme on the Urban landscape. This project was in order to keep up and further improve my drawing skills, get more familiar with my style of work and to allow me to experiment with various media's of my choice. During the summer, I visited family in London and it was there that I found my inspiration for this project. I was intrigued by the many beautiful modern architecture found in and about London as well as different modern structures within the buildings themselves. s well as London, I was also inspired by the architecture (both modern and traditional) found in and about Glasgow. This theme was based on the urban Landscape of both London and Glasgow and for that I focused on the geometrical shapes, colours and intricate detailing found within the buildings I was inspired by. As part of my final outcomes, I took a design from my watercolour painting and used it for Intaglio Printing and Screen Printing. I prepared a plate for etching and then transferred my design on to an A1 screen for final prints. I feel this project has really helped me get a grasp of my own style of work and has inspired me to work more within this area. Read Less

The Urban Landscape

I began this project last summer and focuseed on the contemporary architecture in both London and Glasgow.

I focused on the geometrical forms, shapes and intricate detailing found on those pieces of architecture.
The windows from these buildings also became a big part to this project as many of the buildings I looked at were covered mainly in windows. This inspired me to focus on the lights and shadows that were made/reflected from the sunlight.

My final outcomes were then taken into the print room to which I experiemented with Intaglio printing and Screen Printing.
