"Se Isto é um Homem"

The book of Primo Levi was the target of a book cover redesign.
The concept of a personal diary was the basis for the contrast between the outside, and the inside.
Inside there is a photograph of a (ficcional) prisoner in black, and white, like the newspapers of that period. Levi’s number (174517) is in the end as a lost memory for the reader.
Outside, the calligraphy (with crayons to give a texture like if it's written with blood in a wall), and the typography (DIN 1451, from that time) finish the cover. The binding is made from screws, hand made with remains found in the area.
