”Artificial”
Expo Maraton - Solo show
Site specific installation
The "Artificial" project was born after a series of experiments with plastic in an attempt to explore and understand the material in order to use it as a translating material that changes the meaning of a material and creates new meanings.
The project proposes a dystopian vision on the theme of nature, correlating it with the idea of artificiality, introducing the viewer into a world dominated by mimesis of nature. In the contemporary world, we tend to replace the natural with the artificial, often losing the continuity of these changes and eventually adapting to them without realizing it. Artificiality can be seen as both appearance and reality, and can be identified with a sum of causal relationships that go beyond the causal network of the natural substrate.
Artificial things can imitate the appearance of a natural thing without reality, becoming something synthetic and apparent. Starting from here, I want to make a play of perception and senses, between natural and artificial, between real and false.
