This beeris created by Sanctus Virgilius, a youth group of currently 19 members. From the Sacred Heart of Jesus church in the picturesque town of "De Noord" they engage in meaningful social activities for young people. They stand for broadening the horizon, increasing valuable life knowledge and sharing experiences with each other.

They created the beer as a project within the group. They find that beer can be a very ecclesiastical character for church, think of well-known abbey and Trappist beers, beer is a means through which people have been connecting to each other for centuries. they think that Virgilius Bier will have the same effect and bring people closer to each other. For this reason Virgilius Bier is also known as 'The beer to share'!
