Andy J Pizza stopped by Charlotte, NC in early 2018 to share with AIGA Charlotte. This illustration was made to share on Twitter about the upcoming event with Andy. It started as simple twitter banter, and after a day, I decided to take the idea and develop more interest in the event. 

Knowing Andy's love of pizza I wanted to create an image that tied my "little birdie" comment to Andy and pizza. Growing a bird watcher, I wondered how they got named. Looking at Pepperoni as spots on a pizza, I decided to design the bird to have a breast that resembles a slice of Pepperoni pizza. And thus the Spotted Pepperoni Warbler was born.
