Is Spinning More Effective Than Fly Fishing?

Is Spinning More Effective Than Fly Fishing?
As a spot, fishing is not as popular.  But as a hobby, it has attracted millions of people all over the world.  Fishing is a relaxing endeavor that puts your mind at ease.  There’s also the anticipation and exhilaration of the catch.  However, there is a debate in the fishing community as to which fishing technique is more efficient, fly or spin.

This is a good and informative point of discussion, especially for newcomers to the sport.  To talk about spin versus fly fishing opens all sorts of topics that would benefit and enhance one’s knowledge of fishing.

Some anglers prefer to just state the differences between the two techniques, after all, how many fishes one can catch depend on more than just the techniques.  But I digress.

The first and most obvious difference between spin and fly fishing is the bait.  Spinning and fly lures can both be used in freshwater and saltwater environments.  There is also the difference in the rods and reels.  Many anglers may be skilled at one technique but may need improvement with the other.  However, the truly experienced ones are adept at both.

A majority of anglers agree though that fly fishing is easier in the sense that it takes less time and effort to engage fishes.  But when it comes to throwing, it may take a bit more practice than casting done for spin fishing.
