Graduation design-emmmtaste


"emmmtaste" is an experimental project on sense of taste. For the study, I surveyed 100 people from different regions and different ages in China to collect the taste impressions about Mom’s Cooking Taste. And I used this survey to visualize taste. Accordingly, I designed a food brand that commercialized “Mom’s Cooking Taste” of different kinds. However, this is just a conceptual design experiment to package and sell the tastes we feel. My main purpose is to express the connection between future food status and tastes we remember.

Assuming that the types of food in the world will decrease in the future and the way for humans to obtain nutrition becomes very simple, "taste" has become such precious thing that we desire. Can we visualize the taste and record it? In this way, even if the state of food changes, we can still combine taste with visualization to strengthen our emotional bonds with food.
