Monthly Subscription Box - Bjorn

Monthly Subscription Box

For this Graphic Design project we had to make our own monthly subscription box. We had a choice of 3 categories; beauty, make-up, or beard care.

I chose to do beard care since I wanted to challenge myself. Being a woman I don't use or even know of most of the items that come in a beard care subscription box. I had to do a lot of research to figure out what would be the best for my subscription box.

First we had to come up with a name and a logo. I chose to go with a Nordic theme since vikings are usually depicted with long, lush beards. I chose the name Bjorn for my company as well.

I went through multiple ideas for my logo (pictured below), but finally decided on the middle one to be the secondary and added the name of the brand to it for the primary.
We then had to make a brand identity board. We had to include the basics and whatever else we thought was necessary for the brand.

I decided to do a mood board as the first part of my brand identity. I wanted to explain why I chose the name and the theme for my brand and what audience I was targeting with it.
The next page is the primary logo which explains a little about the logo and what it is used for. It also shows the smallest size the logo can be and how much negative space must be left around the logo when used.
Next is the secondary logo page. This shows the other ways the logo can be used.
Last, I put the typography and color palette. These are the fonts and colors that should be used for the logo and the company and how they should be used.
After we figured out what are brand meant to us and how we wanted to portray it we started to design labels for our subscription box. We had to choose 3 items and have a package insert. I used colors from my color palette and similar design techniques as my logo, as well as keeping with my themes of being natural, rustic, and strong.
We also had to come up with what the outside of the box looked like. I wanted to go with a wooden box and leather straps with a branding iron burn into the wood.
Finally, we had to put our boxes together so we could see what it would look like when you opened your box.
We also ended up having to create a mobile website for our monthly subscription box brand. We had to stick with our themes and make a cohesive and working website. Below is the interactive website for Bjorn. Only certain things are clickable but it shows how the website would look and work if it was real and on a mobile device.
