Our proposal for a new building the West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen is response to the requirements of the sponsor, respectful ties unique environment surrounding of the location "The Bells." The starting point for us is the situation in which the plot is resolved. We realize that it is part of a dense street structure. It is neither vacant lot between city blocks and not even a normal walking trajectory for inhabitants. It is solitary island that wraps around the roads and tramways.

The proposed building gallery therefore always will be perceived principally from areas distant from it at least 20 meters. This has become so strong moment for us that we decided to reorganize the proposed program organization.

The gallery entrance hall with their associated public functions (cafe, shop, auditorium, library) was placed on the first floor above ground, which becomes a billboard, pulsating core and open gallery, in which communication with the outside barrier does not interfere with any traffic. The traditional location of the entrance hall to the ground floor of the building would result in psychological invisibility and inaccessibility.

Full monolithic form as is "sandwich" sliced at the level of the entrance storey and following its perimeter is a glass facade, which supports 360 degree orientation of the house. The entry of the building is a generous shallow staircase that gradually reveals a view of the park which is crimped to the historic core. Other parts of the house volume are full, outside paneled in white masonry.

The open lobby is interspace between contemporary art gallery on the ground floor and a permanent exhibition on the third and fourth floor. On the fifth floor is situated a deposit administration galleries, which disrupts the facade compact jacket with the window facing the Cathedral at Pilsen.

Contemporary Art Space Gallery has a exceptionally spatial ability to open to the exterior using a flexible rotating wall. The outer wall surface of the contemporary art gallery is also open "canvas" of street-art. To the underground we place parking and storage areas.
