App for managers

Here I'm going to describe how we managed to increase conversion rates by almost twice just fixing some UX problems.
Context

A client came to us with just two task: “We want to make more functions and stand more user-friendly.” The challenge of the task itself actually was. Our role was to give some reference to the client to pick up which to carry out.
The project implied to include three stages: a UX research, testing and redesign the application.
Client

KT Ukraine is a company of building instruments. Huge national manufacturer and distributor of goods for repair.
They offer products with price meeting the quality. 1000 employees from 28 branches located in different parts of Ukraine have united and become a force moving company further. They are striving to develop close relations with the employees and do our best for their growth.
Concern

The current application was designed one year ago and now is working as a major sales channel. The client realized that it needs improvement to be met the today’s audience needs, but he was not ready for the redesign and applying to the new technology.
All research took one week.

- Our approach
- We wanted to pay more attention to the customer’s user experience and start with improving the way of the sign in and finding clients and tasks for a day.

Our plan:

1. Research
2. Interviews
3. User Portraits
4. Rival analysis
5. Schema and Prototype
6. User testing
7. Results

1. Research:

The task was to understand what the customer wants and what is their aim. We have read all about the company and had a chance to speak with managers (our users)  and decided to provide interviews in the places where these people work. It was really interesting to understand that our users work in specific circumstances, and as a result, we had to make the offline app.

2. We INTERVIEWED 11 people with such questions:

- Tell me about yourself
- Which applications for managers do you use? Why?
- How often do you use the app? How many times per a day/ a week/ a month?
- Which items in the app do you need to use every day?
- Do you remember bad situations relating to applications? May you tell me about them, please?
- Have you ever had to have the interesting/strange/fun experience using the app?
3. User Portraits

Who are the people using this product? How might their use cases be different from yours? How does the design serve these use cases? Which devices do they use? How old are they? How do they live? What are their hobbies?
4. Rival analysis

Our customer believed they don't have a competitive, because their app is currently for company workers only and they couldn't use another application. But we tried to listen to the users' needs and made a decision to find the solution for their problems.
5. Creating Schema and Prototype
6. User testing

We gave the app to users and saw how they work in the app. We asked them to make some tasks and the results were 97 percent well-made tasks, including results before the redesign which was 43 percents.
7. Results

A good user experience
Clear structure and navigation flow
Clear visual design
Thoughtful transitions and animations
The app’s performance and speed
The user’s mobile phone performance and speed
The product adding value to what that user needs
The product is accessible for every user
The user is pleased that he uses the product
