DIN stands for Design International. This is an environmental design campaign for an international museum. The idea of calling the international museum, DIN, came from the international German design standard. The museum building was built with Swiss design in mind. All aspects of the museum come from around the world, just like the work exhibited inside. The opening day exhibit is, "Typography Covering the World," which displays international magazine covers.
The Swiss Ambassador Residence is located in Washington, DC and was designed by Architect, Steven Holl in 2006. The building is constructed in another design standard, Swiss' 'Minergie.
The museum also includes a gift shop and design studio.
