Buying and Merchandising

Design and produce an A/W 17 retail report and range plan proposal for Ted Baker. This was split into 4 sections;

1. Brand & Market analysis
2. PURE LONDON 2017 research & A/W 2017 trend analysis
3. Creative product development
4. Range plan & Visual merchandising proposal
This project outlined Ted Bakers brand aesthetic, current market position in comparison to it’s competitors and customer research in order to create a range relevant to this brand. Different sources such as WGSN, Trendstop and Pure were used to inspire the trend for this range which is seen through the trend boards in this portfolio.

After researching into the market and current trends, I found that casual clothing was becoming more common in offices, meaning men don’t to wear suits to work but can opt for a smart chino-type trouser and a blazer instead. Therefore, I created both a casual and formal menswear suit for the Ted consumer to make the brand relevant for these consumers. A grandad collar shirt was also designed to fit in with the casual collection and ties were produced to fit with the formal.  Keeping with Ted’s signature look of patterned linings, this range would fit into this brand perfectly.

The creation of the formal and casual range was produced on Adobe Illustrator and edited through Photoshop. This project allowed me to switch between channels to improve my work.
