Tehuana, the typeface

Inspired by the state of Oaxaca, its colorful traditions and warm people; Tehuana is a round, playful font that takes up graphic elements of Oaxacan handicrafts and metaphorizes concepts of festive, folkloric and feminine. This makes it ideal to be used in texts related to the state, but also about Mexico and lighthearted topics in general.
It is a humanistic-inspired typeface that due to its organic details and flourishes, it's great for composing headlines. It contains 127 characters, which include Opentype alternatives such as standard and discretionary ligatures, swashes, and modern and old-style figures (tabular and proportional).
Desarrollada bajo la supervisión de Cristóbal Henestrosa en el Taller de Diseño de fuentes tipográficas de la FAD UNAM.

Developed under the supervision of Cristóbal Henestrosa during the Type Design elective subject at FAD UNAM.
