The objective of the Bandwidth Monitoring System is to monitor the bandwidth usage on a private network. The application first connects to a locally hosted database. once the connection is achieved a multi-threaded process is created one to sniff the packets and another to save the results to a database. Using TCP dump we read the text file and require the desired information such as IP addresses and MAC addresses. When the information is stored we use a Android application to view the information based on router name. The database is hosted remotely using MyPHPAdmin.
