Good Fortune foi um projeto desenvolvido em Projeto em Design III em colaboração com a Vista Alegre. O tema proposto pela marca foi "Luz Aberta", um conceito que propunha o desenvolvimento de um produto para o mercado chinês. Dentro do universo chinês, decidi focar-me nas carpas ou koi fish (símbolo de serenidade, inteligência e harmonia), mais especificamente numa lenda, que relata o percurso de uma carpa persistente que nadou contra a corrente de uma cascata, e quando a ultrapassou, os deuses transformaram-na num dragão dourado. Para além disto, associei também ao produto a tradição chinesa do carimbo, símbolo de individualidade/autenticidade.
Realizei uma pesquisa que resultou num moodboard, presente abaixo.
Good Fortune is a project developed to the subject of Projecto em Design III in collaboration with Vista Alegre. The theme proposed was "Open Light", a concept that proposed the development of a product to the chinese market. Inside the chinese universe, I decided to focus in Koi Fish (symbol of serenity, intelligence and harmony), more specifically in a legend, which talks about a koi that was so persistant that swam against the stream, and when it crossed the waterfall, gods turned it into a golden dragon. Beyond this, I also associated to the product the chinese tradition of stamping, symbol of authenticity.
O produto consiste num conjunto de tigela e colher, algo tradicional da cultura. A tigela possui uma ranhura onde encaixa a colher, representando metaforicamente a lenda, sendo a ranhura a cascata, e a colher, a carpa. Com linhas simples mas sinuosas, a colher aparenta a forma ondulante do rabo de uma carpa.
Na parte inferior de ambas as peças encontra-se a influência de carimbo: com a forma de escamas, um padrão que possibilita carimbar qualquer superfície. Este conjunto representa a boa sorte na adversidade, e assim, mesmo no caso do derrame de algum líquido, teremos uma bela surpresa marcada na mesa onde nos encontramos.
Para associação ao dragão dourado, a taça tem um simples rebordo a ouro, e os carimbos de ambas as peças é também revestida a ouro. A porcelana branca e limpa com elementos dourados é algo que se adapta à linguagem da Vista Alegre, respondendo ao programa proposto pelo cliente.
The product is a set of bowl and spoon, traditional of chinese culture. The bowl has a slot where the spoon fits, representing metaphorically the legend, being the slot the waterfall, and spoon, the koi fish. With simple lines, the spoon has the shape of a fish.
In the bottom part of both pieces we can see the influence of stamp: with the shape of scales, a pattern that allows to stamp a surface. This set represents good luck in adversity, where you can have a nice surprise even when you split some liquid.
To associate the golden dragon part of the legend, the bowl has a golden border, in addiction to the golden pattern in the bottom of both pieces. The white and clean porcelain with gold elements is something usual of Vista Alegre language, answering to the program proposed by the client.
Foram realizados estudos de volumetria em impressão 3D, que serviram para fazer ajustes na modelação 3D, bem como para testar o padrão das bases.
Were realized studies of volumetry in 3D printing, helping in ergonomics measuring. Was also tested the pattern.

GOOD FORTUNE, o gift inspirado na lenda da carpa dourada, transmite serenidade e carinho para com a pessoa presenteada, desejando à mesma boa sorte. São peças que seguem a tradição do carimbo, sendo as bases um símbolo de autenticidade.
GOOD FORTUNE, the gift inspired by the legend of the golden carp, transmits serenity and affection for the gifted person, wishing the same good fortune. They are pieces that follow the tradition of the stamp, the bases being a symbol of authenticity.
