These reconstructions of a Victorian match factory worker were created from a 3D scan of.an individual's skull. The subject in question suffered from 'phossy jaw', brought on by prolonged exposure to the white phosphorous used to dip the matches. The light and dark versions of the image illustrate the pervasive coating of harmful chemicals in the working environment.
