Modularity and Multiples
A single sculpture or temporary instillation based art work using and exploring the use of modular components to build
"Glass Sea Horse" is made from small u/v shaped glass pieces.
"Mermaid Tail" cup is made from clear, blue and green plastic beads.
Wearable Sculpture
A work of art that uses the body as a means for display
"Dream Catcher with Wings" is made from a hola-hoop, twine and the wing feathers are made from children's foam glider pieces
The concept behind the dreamcatcher was to tap into my native american genetics. I love the beauty behind the dream catcher but wanted to refer back to the tree of life. The tree of life, dreamcatchers and wings are recognized as trust, strength, wisdom, freedom, and honor.
Drawing in Space
A self-portrait using wire to create lines and a framework that expresses movement.
There is an aperture in the center to represent my photogenic eye and the groups of wire that look like hair, extending from the aperture and are my free, fun, and energetic spirit
Carving Plaster
Classical emphasis on human form while incorporating popular culture to carve one of my own shoes, focusing on the form of the shoe as it really exists and not the idealized image of the shoe that is thought to be there.
Planar Composition
Working with an additive process to understand structure and planar construction to create a three-dimensional artworks from two dimensional surfaces.
"Neon Cactus Garden" is an idea to turn the one material of cardboard into as many different surfaces as I could explore. There is a smooth surface from the treated side of the cardboard, a rough surface from the untouched paper side of the cardboard, the corrugation look which is revealed when you remove one paper side of the cardboard and shreds from the out siding of the cardboard. A few extra features were added to create the cactus needles, such as feathers, paper clips and twisty ties

A Progression in Womanhood

Each figure is hand built with consideration on a stand for presentation that feeds into the narrative.
The series deals with the changes and amazing beauty of women:
"Adolescent and Playfull" is a figure that lays on her tummy with arms folded one waving hello and a leg kicked up into the air. This figure lays atop a vigina with a clitorus, while the other side is a breast; this represents the time when the body has started puberty.
"Flirty Woman" is a figure resting in a flirtatious pose, an arm behind her head while the other rests on her thigh. Legs are long a crossed. The figure sits on a representation of the female reproductive organs; the Uterus with Fallopian Tubes.
"Life Choices" is a small figure arms crossed sitting on her legs in a very calm reflective pose. She is covered in cracks showing she is further along in life. She sits on a plate with imagery of sperm entering an egg. The figure is now moving from young women into motherhood and sits to think about the next phase in her life.
"Birth" is a larger sculpture depicting a naked pregnant woman on one side in a squat halfway through child birth. When the sculpture is turned the other side it shows the male counter part supporting the female in birth he too is naked with his penis for all to see.
"Mother Tree of Life" is a figure is a mother full of love and joy dancing against the tree of life. This tree of life holds imagery of a woman's pregnant body, an older looking worn out body and a vital dancing side view body.
