KING OF NOTHING
is a song by the Serbian alternative rock band Repetitor.
CEO of Go Hektik, Jovana Stanimirović, stood behind this project with the creative concept and art direction. This is the first animated music video produced by Go Hektik studio so far.
Our team was asked to animate the short, eruptive and rhythmic song. The minimalistic yet effective lyrics inspired us to follow the music and to listen to the beat:

THE STORY:
The band Repetitor allowed us total creative freedom.
The whole story is based on the fears of the modern man. Our self-proclaimed king of the night becomes a puppet of his own shadows and fears: the fear of attachment, the fear of inauthenticity, the fear of death.
All fears are measured in time - hence the clocks in most of the scenes.

THE STYLE:
We have tried to develop a style that would follow the aesthetics of the story itself: bold colors, somewhat unclear vision and the lack of round objects show us the raw life.
Nothing is black and white, but it is so to our hero. Hence the chessboard that he has to cross by following the rules. In the video, our king faces fears that are presented as mechanisms - clocks, machines, robots, mechanical birds.
The whole project gave us the opportunity to experiment and use many ideas. Go Hektik team contributed as a whole in this video which gave us the pleasure to create something authentic for the Serbian rock and roll scene.
