Samvel Sargsyan is an Armenian painter who lives and creates in Los Angeles, CA.

Born on January 22, 1958 in Javaxq, Georgia (former Soviet Union). At the age of 12, was already attending the Mercurov School of Art in Gyumri, Armenia.

He moved to the capital of Armenia, Yerevan in 1973 where he continued his professional education at Panos Terlemezian College of Art, graduating with honors in 1978. To further his studies, he attended Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre from 1980 to 1985 and obtained his Master of Fine Art with honors.

Samvel became known from a young age with his unique point of view and distinct style. The ambitious artist was one of the first painters to exhibit an abstract artwork in Yerevan, Armenia. 

He opened the Abstract and Modern Art exposition at Yerevan Komitas Conservatory in 1983.
