„Stretched moment” – engobe stoneware
The undefined- or timeless existence of the moment comes from relativity. Its value is that it is unknowable. By reason of the structure and operation speed of our nerve system, it is almost impossible for us to live and sense the exact moment. Thus this we need to apply different technologies to record it – at least visually - . These attempts only catches some fragments from the phenomenon of the moment, but these are more likely engrams only. Perhaps to understand the moment we have to approach it from the perspective of living the moment, and the physical impulse that is possible to follow back as an engram. A phenomenon between the materiality and immateriality. The tools that we use to record these, are usually separated from the engrams of the second. The recorded moment is the result of the unity of the tool used, the sensitivity of it. This is what I intended to unite in my work „Stretched moment”.
