This was an app I designed for the RSA Sleep Matters brief that asked you to design a product, service or system to improve health and wellbeing by encouraging and/or enabling better sleep. Through my research I learned that women are not getting enough sleep, this is because of the changing levels of hormones that a woman experiences throughout each month and over her lifetime, like estrogen and progesterone, have an impact on sleep. Most women’s sleep is affected by their menstrual cycle.
I decided an effective way to share this information with women would be to make a screensaver for your phone that would change daily based on where you are in your cycle. This would then act as a subtle reminder to get more sleep coming up to your period without having to go out of your way to find this information.
