Through my work study job at the Kendall College of Art and Design Library, I was asked to create a gift for those being recognized at the annual Kendall College of Art and Design and Ferris State University Authors Celebration. The librarians asked me to create something inspired by one of the beautiful and rare books that is part of the Kendall Library Special Collections. This particular book, Formes Et Couleurs by Auguste H. Thomas, featured stunning printed patterns that I decided to highlight by creating a deck of collectible cards. Each page of the book is given their own card to keep the integrity of the original artwork. For the box of the cards, I selected and rearranged patterns from different pages.

Inside this box are collectible cards of works by Auguste H. Thomas featured in his book Formes Et Couleurs. The printed patterns in this book, which were created using the pochoir process, were used as inspiration for fine and decorative artists. Formes Et Couleurs is a rare book and part of the Kendall Library Special Collections.
