In March 2012 huge earthqake and tsunami killed over 15 000 people in Japan.
It was a few days before our Lexus (part of Toyota) event opening in Poland.
Event about most sophisticated fashion shows in country. About premiere a new car. About a having fun.
Though task arrived — write an opening speech for President of Toyota who is coming directly from Japan for this speech.
Damn.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
it is a great pleasure to have you here at the sixth Lexus Fashion Night event.
We are here -- far far away from Japan,
but we all know that week ago a big tragedy touched Japan
and all of my fellow-citizens.
Chisa wa madowazu, yusha wa osorezu what means:
A wise man does not lose his way, a brave man does not fear.
I believe that Japan has always followed the wisdom and no-fear philosophy of life.
That is why I am that brave to stand here and say:
Let’s make this Lexus Fashion Night filled us with a spirit of brave Japan and all of people who made possible that Lexus can produce best cars in the world.
Ladies and Gentlemen. Tonight you will witness the premiere of our newest accomplishment -- the Lexus CT 200h -- world’s first premium class, compact car with a fully hybrid heart.
Made with precision, sophisticated design, and with wealth of features -- this is the Lexus CT 200h!
Our creation also served as the inspiration for designers whose collections will be shown here tonight.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the premiere of the Lexus CT 200h is not only a unique event.
It’s the QUIET revolution.
