Yelp: Food Critic Credibility Test
The main focus of this project was to create an educational design piece that gives an impression of pretentiousness. The idea of creating an addition to Yelp with a credibility test rooted from pretentious food writers on Yelp that portrays inauthenticity while putting on airs in their reviews. Through the process, I learned to empathize with professional food critics through their qualifications and skills. This project tested my skills with Adobe Xd and Illustrator.

Inspiration
The main inspiration was layout and colors of the Yelp app, and the environments where professional food critics will be working. The application includes the Yelp color way to give an illusion as if the credibility test was part of the user experience. Also, I researched many of the qualifications and skills to become a professional food writer, as a result, that helped me to chose which components to include in the test.

While sketching, I explored different directions that connected to food writers and restaurants.
For each step of the test, I introduced a brief summary of how each step is related to the profession of food writing, then I ask them questions relating to the topic.
The badges were created in Illustrator, and the fork and pencil symbolizes food writers.
The credibility test will guide the user through a total of five steps requiring them to answer questions, entering their information, and testing their skills.
To further the pretentiousness of the project, I included a survey testing the user’s sense of taste and smell to see if they are worthy to review the restaurant’s food.
