    The Laboratory Schools were founded by Thomas Dewey in 1896. They currently occupy an eight buildings on the University of Chicago, serving preschool through 12th grade students. Valerio Dewalt Train's work includes major renovations to 7 of the existing buildings, the demolition of one, to be replaced by a new 90,000SF Arts building and a new 128,000SF Early Childhood Center on a new site nearby.
