Wheel Guide
Hong Kong government provide accessible facilities for disabilities but some of them are not user-friendly. For example, one of a Hong Kong shopping mall equips disabled toilet for disabilities which need to go upstairs. It is the most distant distance in the world for disabilities!

Therefore, we propose to add a new function to Google Map, Wheel Guide, an interactive app that providing a platform for volunteers to walk a convenient path for disabilities. Our main target audience are disabilities, and volunteers. Also, we encourage handcart users, baby car users and others in need to use. Everyone can be the volunteers who provide information for disabilities through Google Map.
For volunteers, we will create an accessibility footprint button on tab bar. Users can click the start button to record the route they walk. They need to avoid all obstacles which disabilities cannot arrive. Then, press the stop button when they finish. Google map will record the route suggested by the volunteers and show on the recommended list of disabilities. In addition, a stair mark function will be added. Volunteers can click stair mark button when meeting some obstructed places to remind disabilities avoiding this way.
For disabilities, we will add a disability button on the search column. Disabilities need to enter a destination then click that button. The system will suggest some pathways of volunteers’ record. The brighter color of the pathway is more recommended. Disabilities can score for the path after following that route.
Google Map will be updated on 3 December 2018, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. We will design a doodle to promote the new function of Google map and celebrate this day.

We believe these small buttons can lead a big improvement of accessibility.
