CHESS Typeface 2017-2018 x Wilhelm Steinitz 1836-1900
The Chess type is an alphabet what combines the preferences of the sharper geometric shapes and the modular grid. This alphabet uses typical serif and sans-serif tools at the same time, it's a hybrid type.
The inspiration of the sturcture created by the chess world, the unique steps of the different figures and the game outcomes twists also appears visually. The black and white color's rythm prevail of these negative places.
Wilhelm Steinitz first chess world champion's life and career was used in a flyer for the font's presentation. To show the font's multifunction abilities in the print I used mixed paragraph, subheader and header texts.
