Civic Music was commonly getting confused with "The Civic Center" (another live music company in Des Moines, Iowa). We were tasked with re-branding them and coming up with a new logo that would help separate them from the competition. 

Because Civic Music Association had been in town for over 90 years we decided that changing the name wasn't in their best interest. However, creating an acronym and dropping the Association (otherwise CMA would be confused with Country Music Awards), we were able to solve the problem .
