Mesa Verde
Web Design
This was my final project for my first web design class. The assignment required me to recreate some pages for the Mesa Verde National Park website. I chose to use a dark vivid green and light dull green along with black and white for the colors in order to give the site a nature-like feel. The header contains the park logo, a search-bar, social icons, and the nav. The footer contains a different nav, a mailing address, a phone number for visitor information, and the park's social media.

The homepage starts with a hero image. The hero is followed by a brief introduction to the park, which then leads into a section about the main attraction of the park, the cliff dwellings. The cliff dwellings section allows the user to learn more about the dwellings if they choose by clicking a button. At the end of the homepage, there is a news section which lists upcoming events and news. The user can click links to learn more about each event, and also share on social media if they choose to do so.

Next, I designed a page for the Balcony House, which is a specific cliff dwelling. Each subpage has a heading image with the title of the page inside of it, and the breadcrumbs are displayed in the top left of the heading image. THe Balcony House page has a section that tells the history of the site, and a map with the location of the site pinned.

Next is the visitor services page. This page contains many sections that tell the history of the Ancestral Puebloans. The page includes sections about their history, the tools they used, what they traded, pottery they made, and the buildings they lived inhabited.

Lastly, I designed an artist in residency application for the park. There is information about the position to the left. The form is to the right. Required fields are marked with a red star. There are buttons to upload documents and a submit button to finish it off.
