Fairfest Media is the leading travel media company in India with over 100 shows in 10 cities. Since 1989, it offers those seeking to participate in trade events the best possible platform for doing business in one of the fastest growing markets in the world.
Fairfest has three major divisions in their scope of work: Travel & Tourism, Urban Development and Technology. The former two have various trade shows under them, all of which have their individual websites. We were approached to design a consolidated website for Fairfest Media Ltd., where all of their verticals and activities thereof can be displayed altogether.
The User Experience was designed keeping in mind the varied requirements of the users who visit the website, since the verticals are quite distinct in their areas of operation. The first division, therefore was on the homepage itself, where the default user journey would lead to one vertical at a time.
The inside pages, for the shows under each vertical, were given a UX with only the information that was absolutely necessary, and the link of their respective websites.
For the User Interface, the color palettes used were the ones Fairfest has been using for their shows for years. The fonts used by them in their print collaterals were also integrated in the website UI.
A detailed UI Kit was developed for the website, including HD images filtered with the respective tradeshow colors with text overlay, gradients, font styles, button styles and color codes.
The final UI consisted of the elements listed above in a decidedly minimal layout, with vast white spaces and the text to a minimum. The three verticals were divided by gradients in key colors to keep the divide apparent.
The tradeshow pages were divided in two parts each, one with the logo, descriptive info and the video of 2017 show.
The second page included the figures and attractions about each show placed on a filtered image of the show itself.
The same website was also adapted for the mobile version.
