International Year of Cuba

Created for Western Kentucky University's International Programs logo competition. Advanced to the final round of voting.
This logo was created after extensive research on the culture and history of Cuba. Upon learning more about the economy, I found that crops, primarily tobacco, are crucial for the country.  This facet of Cuban culture is rich and often forgotten about among the beautiful beaches and historical towns. After exploring different thoughts, I landed on the leaves which I found to be relevant not only to the agricultural element of Cuba but also as a symbol of hope and growth for its people.
