1969 MOSCOW U.S.S.R THE COLD WAR
Between the years of 1968 and 1971, Kevin Paul Scarrott, aka Boy Moscow, travelled a total of eighteen times, West to East, and East to West. The Cold War was in full swing and tensions were high. The atmosphere was electric and everybody was following everybody. Some of Britain’s top MI5 and MI6 agents had even fled to the East seeking refuge.
Moscow was a huge melting pot of thugs, spies, and corrupt officials, all competing against each other or colluding together for a part of the valuable information frenzy and the lucrative Black Market. Everything was for sale and everybody had their price!
The mother of all playgrounds was loaded, cocked, and ready for action. The game was in play. This is the scenario that the fourteen-year-old boy found himself entering.
All the adults stationed or serving in Moscow were forced to follow the strict rules and unyielding regulations of a highly volatile aggressive regime. However, the boy himself had total freedom. He had the liberty to come and go at will, unrestricted, uncontrolled, and unhindered. In this dangerous, exciting atmosphere, opportunities abounded. Adventure awaited. Exploiting the farcical deadlock was an easy task for those who had the balls, ability, and confidence to play the field. This is the backdrop for those nimble individuals who were willing to take the risks. In amongst the players, was Boy Moscow.
