Davenport is a brand that sells and promotes electric-powered automobiles. Named after inventor Thomas Davenport (who constructed the first American DC electric motor in 1834), the brand is intended to reflect a modern, yet sophisticated style. Davenport’s branding materials include: Business stationary, the brand’s employee uniform, a promotional billboard sign, a promotional booklet offering Davenport’s products and their features, the map and way-finding signage of Davenport’s construction plant, and the packaging of one of Davenport’s products (an oil filter). The packaging also includes a shipping box. The central concept of Davenport’s brand aesthetic is to capture a symbolic representation of electricity. This is manifested through the use of triangles throughout all the branding materials, which suggest a sense of movement/speed.
