The 80 years old Jewish Soda Shop in Alibaug

D Samson founder Daniel Samson Digodkar had established this iconic soda shop in Pali near Alibaug in the year 1938. D Samson holds a strange enigma of time, colours and multiculturalism. It has a Konkani architecture with a Marathi signboard, a blue wall with a pink star of David, a sepia-tinted picture of Moses. After D Samson passed away, his sister Sydney Moses took over the business and today her son Daniel Sydney who has always been fond of his uncle's sodas since his childhood has been taking care over the business.
D Samson serves as a monument of the Benne Israeli Community that set up the villages in the area which was their home centuries ago, intermingling with the Maharashtrians without letting go off their roots.
It is much more than a casual soda joint which serves various ice-cream sodas, and also offers unique sodas like Ginger Lemon, Kala Khatta & Masala Soda.
