Monoprint of miners for latest project. I chose Miners specifically because i feel they are significantly important in wales and the project is to promote art around Wales and invite people to view exhibitions that are free and open to the public. Thinking back to the time when the whole of the community came together to 'Save Welsh Miners' so im turning the tables to save welsh art and using welsh culture to promote it. I feel like monoprinting was the best way to present the art as the effect looks like the dirty, dark conditions they worked in and similar to how it would look on their faces as they came back to the surface. We are working with The *Kickplate* Project to help get them the recognition in and around Pontypool. They are a non-profit organisation and keep afloat by donations. The aim : 'To bring art directly into the lives and communities of those people who have been told that art is not for them.'
