Röra is a handheld mixer; stylistically influenced by 1950’s mid-century modern kitchenware.  Röra experiments with the idea of the natural instinct of holding a vessel, both in semantic and ergonomic terms.  The form is comprised of basic shapes such as cones and cylinders that are seamlessly blended together.  The functionality is easily understood and actions should feel fluid while in use. Röra is proposed to be ABS plastic, stainless steel and silicone.  The high gloss finish was intended to make cleaning the mixer easier. The color choice of a low saturated blue green was intended to imitate a retro aesthetic, in particular, 1950’s Bauhaus, in contrast to the current contemporary form.
