Alpár Explained

The first release from Budapest-based music blog mmmnmnm exists somewhere between unusual physical music release, collectible zine, and folksy how-to guide, and brought together a group of creators working on the design, text and printing of the product. In an attempt to lift the curtain on the process behind his sound, producer Alpár explains his setup through an audio guide and accompanying text. A robotic voice guides the listener through Alpár’s chosen collection of equipment, giving us an insight into the carefully-constructed scaffolding behind the producer’s music. Along the way we’re treated to samples of sound from Alpár’s machines, illuminating the explanations and revealing the unique character of each instrument and how they contribute to the whole composition. These demos inevitably take on a life of their own and blossom into full compositions. This one-of-a-kind product comprises a 18-page physical booklet, with illustrations printed on special translucent pages, and a QR code leading to the audio tracks.
