Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and George H. W. Bush, their first wives, along with first lady Melania Trump were photographed together at the late Barbara Bush’s funeral.

The unfortunate passing of former first lady, Barbara Bush led to a rare, touching opportunity this past Saturday, where several generations of former presidents and first ladies gathered. The photographer who served the White House during George H.W. Bush administration, Paul Morse, snapped the incredible photo.

Barbara Bush’s funeral, which was held in Houston, Texas, attracted friends and loved ones, and it also brought several generations of U.S. presidents and wives together, so that they might pay respect to a very gracious woman.

A stunning photo was snapped at the event, which featured Barbara Bush’s son and former president, George W. Bush, and her husband George H.W. Bush. Also featured in the photo were former first ladies, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Laura Bush; former presidents, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton; and current first lady Melania Trump. President Donald Trump didn’t attend, “to avoid disruptions due to added security” of his presence, thus wasn’t featured in the photo.

Trump did order that flags fly at half-staff in Barbara Bush’s memory and shared a condolence tweet:

Also, 93-year-old former president Jimmy Carter couldn’t attend the ceremony because he and his wife, who is recovering from surgery, are currently on a trip overseas.

According to reports, Trump’s decision to sit out of the funeral wasn’t unusual one, as many of the living presidents didn’t attend a funeral during their tenure. Former president Bill Clinton attended Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ funeral service in 1994, but neither George W. Bush or Barack Obama attended funeral services.

Former presidents and first ladies previously assembled more than two decades ago in 1994 at the funeral of former president Richard Nixon in California. Then-president Bill Clinton was in attendance, along with his wife, and former presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Gerald Ford and their wives were in attendance.

Barbara Bush was more than a wife and a mother of six; she was also the founder of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. Additionally, she received awarded dozens of honorary degrees. Struggling with Graves’ disease, some health complications, she passed at her Houston home at the age of 92 on April 17.
