Soul's Palette Arts

THE CHALLENGE

The director of Soul's Palette Arts originally contacted me needing to make improvements to their existing website. Through discussing their goals and needs, we decided to completely redesign the website, and create a lasting brand, further establishing their presence as a healing arts program in the Denver area.
BRANDING

Rosie Opp (Volunteer at Soul's Palette Arts & talented Graphic Design Student at Metro State University Denver) and I worked together to create a new brand identity for Soul's Palette Arts. Because their mission is to bring healing through art, it was only appropriate to tie their brand to art.

A major part of their story centers around an event they held for their patients and staff, where they created 1000 origami cranes which symbolize the healing from illness or injury in Japanese culture.

Combining these things resulted in a beautifully symbolic signature that will serve them for a long time.
NAVIGATION

Great navigation is key to an intuitive website. By dividing each section of information accordingly, the Soul's Palette experience is wrapped up in a single, well-organized, easy to use page. Clicking a navigation link smoothly scrolls to the section. The navigation bar remains accessible while it is fixed to the top of the page.
THE SOUL'S PALETTE EXPERIENCE

The core of Soul's Palette Arts lies in the experiences their patients are left with—that is, the hands-on art workshops, theatrical and musical performances, literature, and every other form of expression that both the patients and staff participate in together. Connections are made, and healing takes place.

To show this best, a grid of images are selected randomly from a collection and laid out, and upon clicking them, a lightbox appears displaying a larger image. Below are randomly selected quotes from patients and staff.

No visit to the Soul's Palette website will be the same for anyone, but understanding the experience will come across the same for everyone because of the positive impact they make.
BOARD MEMBERS

As a non-profit organization working with both children and adult patients, transparency is crucial. A brief overview of the board members is available on the site.
VOLUNTEERING

One of the things we wanted to improve was the clarity of becoming a volunteer. Finding the documents and knowing where to send them were reduced to three quick steps.
DONATION

Much like volunteering section, it was my goal to make it as clear and concise as possible for providing multiple ways to donate to Soul's Palette Arts. Online donation is through PayPal with predefined or specified amounts.

Making a planned donation is as easy as contacting Cynthia, the Director.
REFERENCES & LINKS

The staff at Soul's Palette Arts have been inspired by the stories that have arisen from illness. Any books or sources that have aided the staff and patients are listed in this section.
CONTACTING SOUL'S PALETTE ARTS

The ability to contact a a business or organization with minimal effort fuels their success, so I wanted to make it as easy as possible for anyone to get a hold of the staff at Soul's Palette Arts, as well as find the hospital they are located at. With an easy click or tap of a button, phone calls are made, emails are sent, and directions are given.
