Darrach Bourke's profile

San Francisco’s Safe and Sound

A California-based financial executive, Darrach Bourke serves as senior vice president of wealth management at Emerson Equity in San Mateo. Alongside his professional activities, Darrach Bourke gives back to the community by supporting various non-profit organizations. He previously served on the board of directors for the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, which was recently renamed Safe and Sound.

For over four decades, Safe and Sound has been striving to create a future free of child abuse. The organization works to achieve this goal through advocacy, support, and education programs.

Currently, Safe and Sound offers various classes, workshops, and training activities for both children and adults. In the San Francisco Unified School District, the organization delivers in-class safety lessons to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The lessons focus on topics such as assertiveness, personal safety, and unsafe versus safe physical contact. Safe and Sound also offers lessons that teach parents and caregivers how to communicate with children to help them avoid potentially abusive situations.

In addition to delivering lessons in schools and other organizations, Safe and Sound develops its own class and workshop curriculum, and makes it available to other community groups. Child safety, divorce and separation, abuse, and family trauma are among the issues covered in the curriculum developed by Safe and Sound. For more information, visit www.safeandsound.org.
