Bodoni was created in 1798 by Giambattista Bodoni who was a renowned typographer and printer. He was influenced by both Baskerville and Didot which is demonstrated in his typeface. Bodoni is one of the first modern typefaces. The typeface is considered modern because it is not based on Roman or Renaissance type, it is a brand new design. Bodoni is characterized by its hairline serifs, vertical stress, small x-height, as well as the contrast between thick and thin strokes. These compositions were chosen as my final designs because they represent the typeface, Bodoni, the best. Each of them is elegant and take into consideration the time in which the typeface was designed, as well as the purpose of the typeface.
