How to renew an ancient skill


Context
Forno Calzolari is an Italian bakery that asked us to renew their corporate image. They asked us to maintain the symbolic ‘girl’ at the core of their identity but to renew it, creating a coherent story with the existing one yet modernizing it. We began by listening to the stories of the bakery’s birth, baking techniques, and the shared vision of the bakers themselves.

Process
We researched the history of the brand and the competitors, including domestic and international bakers. This helped us to design the new identity to make the brand unique and distinctive. Our main goal was to keep a hand-drawn look employing illustrations to tell a story about their core business.

Solution
A rich narrative and emotional brand revealing through illustrations, how bread was made in the old days.
